No Surprises Act & Good Faith Estimates

By law under the No Surprises Act, uninsured or self-pay clients have the right to a Good Faith Estimate detailing how much your medical care may reasonably cost. Healthcare providers, including therapists, must provide an estimate of the bill for medical services provided.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any nonemergency healthcare service, including therapy. This may include costs related to medical tests, prescriptions, and hospital fees.

You have the right to ask for a Good Faith Estimate prior to scheduling any medical service, including therapy.

You have the right to a copy of your Good Faith Estimate.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you have a right to dispute the bill.
